UC Berkeley's Frederic Wakeman, widely regarded as one of the world's finest China scholars, gave what turned out to be among his last public lecture series on the history of China in April, 2006. In Part One of this series, Wakeman examines the impact of the Mongol occupation in the 14th century. The Wakeman series is presented by the Institute for International, Comparative and Area Studies at UC San Diego.
