description:
Energy storage in the electrochemical form is attractive because of its high efficiency and fast response time. New and improved materials for electrochemical energy storage are urgently required to make more efficient use of our finite supply of fossil fuels, and to enable the effective use of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar. This seminar focuses on a set of challenges faced by the research and development communities today, particularly in the area of large scale energy storage for electric vehicles (EVs) and for smart grids.
