description:
Synchrophasor data from Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) is one of the most promising tools to monitor modern electric power systems. PMUs generated synchronized measurements of Voltage, Current, Power flow and Frequency at a rate of more 30 samples/second throughout a complete electricity network. The vast amount of data generated by a PMU network requires real-time systematic analysis to be able to detect events and provide insight in the possibly changing dynamics of the network. In this talk we illustrate how real-time event detection and modeling of network dynamics can be implemented in a distributed fashion.
